What is FEARLESS DREAMERS?
Fearless Dreamers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving as a catalyst to address the longstanding imbalance of vocational training in our public school system and to provide sustained support for those who have been formerly incarcerated. Our passion is to bring skilled trades to Chicago communities, schools, institutions, and correctional facilities, creating meaningful pathways to stable, living-wage careers. By doing so, we work to dismantle the entrenched “School-to-Prison Pipeline” and give our young people room to dream, build lasting hope, and resist the detrimental forces of systemic racism, recidivism, and gang-related violence. Our model is deliberately layered and sustainable: we train both youth and adults to enter into a vocational trade, building leadership and transferable skills at every level. Additionally, we run a monthly hands-on workshop where youth are introduced to the craft, encouraged to experiment, and supported as they explore practical learning and career possibilities. The program stands firmly as a living example of “Each one — teach one,” centering mentorship, applied skills, community resilience, and long-term opportunity in the heart of our mission.
